|...| Safe biking is kind of an oxymoron, if you look at the stats, but NR4 Illuminated Running Apparel could help to make bikers, runners etc. more visible at night if the line becomes reality. Safe biking can once again become a reality if more clothing featured integrated luminescence like that of NR4 Illuminated Running Apparel. NR4 uses Electro Luminescent (EL) wires to add the flexibility factor to the apparel, plus a "moisture-wicking stretch fabric" which will keep you dry. The lights would be powered with a flexible, rechargeable battery which is connected to a standard wall socket. A con is the lightweight pack that you'd have to keep on your upper back. |...|Safe Biking is kind of an oxy-moron since in 2007, 43,000 people were injured in bike accidents, resulting in 698 deaths, yet the Light Lane Concept intends to make biking safer. The Light Lane is a Concept from Altitude's Alex Tee and Evan Gant and is designed with an idea to establishes a well defined boundary beyond the envelope of the bicycle to in turn create a greater margin of safety between the car and the cyclist. Using a laser, the Light Lane concept the would adapt to the cyclist and project a crisply defined virtual bike lane onto the pavement, providing the driver with an obvious boundary to steer clear of. This would hypothetically increase a bikers margin of safety, and work to make commuting with a bike a safer, and more attractive form of transportation |...|
